FAQ
What is the issue with synthetic chemicals?
Our world is bombarded with synthetic chemicals every day. These chemicals often have a negative effect on our health and the health of the planet.
Most major brands contain synthetic ingredients. They are very easy and inexpensive to manufacture. While those products may seem cost effective, in reality they are not. They can cause life threatening illnesses that are very expensive to treat.
For example:
There is a strong link between parabens (low cost and commonly used preservatives) and breast cancer.
Synthetic fragrances are hormone disruptors linked with infertility.
Harsh irritants like sodium lauryl sulfate not only damage your skin but they also damage the rainforests and other species rich habitats.
Ingredients like mineral oil found in baby oil sound safe but they are in fact petroleum by-products that inhibit the skin's natural function of eliminating toxins.
What is Greenwashing?
Greenwashing is the unsavory practice of making an unsubstantiated claim about environmental or natural benefits of a product. This can also look like a brand pretending to be good for you by giving it a misleading and natural sounding name. A product which claims to be natural could in fact just be 1% natural products.
